"The Use of TEA Copyrighted Materials

Section 101.4 of the Texas Administration Code (TAC) states, "A representative form of each assessment instrument required under the Texas Education Code, Chapter 39, Subchapter B, shall be made available periodically for public review and for formative student evaluations by school districts." In order to implement this section of the TAC, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) examinations are released to the public each year after all districts have completed testing.  Field test items, which are used to build future forms of the test, are not released. Spring 2003 was the first administration of the TAKS tests."

The released TAKS™, SDAA II, RPTE, TAAS™ and end-of-course examinations are available in the following formats: Hard Copy ( Hard copies of the released tests, including the braille versions); Printable Version in Portable Document Format (PDF)

New Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) reading tests for grades 2–12 were implemented in the 2007–2008 school year.
