program. Texas was the first state to provide state assessment
online which contains actual past tests.

Section 101.4 of the Texas Administration
Code (TAC) states, "A representative form of each assessment instrument
required under the Texas Education Code, Chapter 39, Subchapter
B, shall be made available periodically for public review and
for formative student evaluations by school districts." In order
to implement this section of the TAC, the Texas Assessment of
Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) examinations are released to the public
each year after all districts have completed testing. Field
test items, which are used to build future forms of the test,
are not released. Spring 2003 was the first administration
of the TAKS tests."

released TAKS™, SDAA II, RPTE, TAAS™ and end-of-course
examinations are available in the following formats: Hard Copy
