The Bureau of Labor Statistics* predicts that employment of pharmacy technicians will increase much faster than average over the next several years, with good job prospects for those entering the field. Pharmacy Technicians play a very critical role in pharmacies and healthcare organizations by handling prescriptions and medication orders and by providing assistance to licensed pharmacists. Retailers are expected to expand their pharmaceutical services and the workload will increase for pharmacists. This increased workload will spur growth and the demand for Pharmacy Technicians.
