Ristorante Quadri is the only fine dining restaurant overlooking Piazza San Marco. It is a 1 Star Michelin Restaurant which seems by it's cuisine looking for a second star.The cuisine of Quadri is a contemporary expression of Italian and Venetian classics. The menu was created by Max Alajmo is carried out by executive chef Silvio Giavedoni with influences from famous 3 Michelin Star Restaurant Le Calandre. 1 Michelin Star Restaurant --Once an old Venetian tavern, da Fiore is now considered one of the best restaurants in Venice amd the best by many. The restaurant has some excellent raw fish dishes... risotto and the "molecche". Osteria Da Fiore has excellent daily ingredients from the lagoon. The spider crab appetizer is one of the most popular dishes served. Homemade pasta dishes made from local fish were excellent. There is one table for two that sits outside on the canal. In the heart of Venice, between Rialto and Piazza San Marco, this quaint little local restaurant honors the tradition of cooking fish from the lagoon. Try the grilled lagoon fish for 2 which contains a variety of local lagoon fish and crustaceans. The cod puree at Osteria Alle Testiere is one of the best you will find anywhere. The 2015 Zagat rates this restaurant the best in Venice with a 26 score. The place is small it is necessary to reserve. The Ridotto Restaurant is located , just a few steps from Saint Mark's Square, in the heart of Venice near the water bus stop of San Zaccaria. It is a 1 star Michelin Restaurant although prices especially the --only for lunch menu-- do not reflect this. The restaurant is an excellent value for the quality of food one gets. A great little tapas style bar since 1462 near the Rialto market, that also has some of the best (cicchetti) tapas style food in Venice. Gorgeous ceiling and decor with hanging bottles and copper pots. Bar opens from two streets. This is a very popular Venetian restaurant. The food is very consistent here and the outdoor seating very pleasant, located in Campo San Stefano -- you will need reservations here. The mussel soup here is filled with mussels in a large bowl and covered with pizza dough then baked in the oven... a very popular and nice dish. Rossopomodoro Pizzeria - Calle Larga S, Maro 404/408 --This is where to go for pizza if you are near San Marco --Execellent pizza and pastas from the region of Naples. The pizza is baked in an original Fornodoro wood burning oven with a Biscotto di Sorrento stone floor. Rossopomodoro is a chain restaurant that maintains it's standards and resonable prices.
