The
Top Restaurants in Venice Italy
-- 2013 Update
Note
on eating out in Venice: Venice is an exception to the rule
that Europeans eat late– some of the best-value foodie bars and
bacaros (the bacaro is a peculiarly Venetian take on the Spanish
tapas joint) serve lunch from noon to 1.30pm, dinner from 7pm
to around 8.30pm.
Osteria
Da Fiore San Polo Calle del Scaleter, Venice,
Italy 041-721-308 |
1 Michelin Star Restaurant --Once an old Venetian tavern, da Fiore
is now considered one of the best restaurants in Venice. The restaurant
has some excellent raw fish dishes... risotto and the "molecche".
Osteria Da Fiore has excellent daily ingredients from the lagoon.
The spider crab appetizer is one of the most popular dishes served.
Homemade pasta dishes made from local fish were excellent. There
is one table for two that sits outside on the canal. If you want
a special romatic dinner this is the table to reserve.. --Web

Venice’s only cutting-edge culinary laboratory. Chef Corrado Fasolato

This is a very popular Venetian restaurant and highly rated by
Tripadvisor. The food is very consistent here and the outdoor
seating very pleasant, located in Campo San Stefano -- you will
need reservations here. The mussel soup here is filled with mussels
in a large bowl and covered with pizza dough then baked in the
oven... a very popular and nice dish. Spaggetti Vongola is as
good as it gets. --Web

L'Orto
dei Mori Santa Croce Calle del Tintor, Sestiere Santa Croce,
1762, 30135 Venice, Italy +39 (041)-524-1570
It only opened in 2009, but has already become a big hit with
locals and tourists alike. The chef is Sicilian, but the seafood
cuisine is mixed -- Venetian classics such as baccalà mantecato
(creamed cod, excellent) with more creative dishes such as risotto
with clams and courgette flowers. -- --Web
